Scoop Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)
Orthoplasty is an operation that can be performed under sedation in children and under local anesthesia in adults. With an incision made from the back of the ear, the cartilage tissue of the auricle can be reached and the tissues that look like a scoop are thinned with a file of cartilage, and the special stitches make the ear stand closer to the head. The created incision is then closed. The operation takes about an hour. The patient is sent home on the same day.
