The concha radiofrequency method is a method used to reduce the concha (nasal flesh). This method can be easily performed with local anesthesia, ie without anesthesia. Needles are inserted into the turbinate at different points and heat is increased in a limited area at the tip of the needle. This heat does not damage the turbinate mucosa. The procedure takes about 5-10 minutes for each turbinate. Swelling of the turbinate occurs first with the effect of heat. After about 3 months, shrinkage starts in the turbinate and shrinkage is completed within 1-2 months. Bleeding is usually not seen during the procedure. The procedure does not require hospitalization, and the patient can return to her routine life the next day. If the turbinates grow again, the procedure may be repeated 2 or 3 times with an interval of 2 months. Concha radiofrequency; It is preferred in pediatric patients, in patients using blood thinners, in cases where nasal congestion is due to concha growth, in patients without concha bone, in patients at risk of general anesthesia, in patients who do not want to undergo surgery or who should return to work in a short time.
